Muslims in anticipation of Eid Al Adha.

well, I'm glad this amuses you :) but why not try to keep this thread going?

I am, i'll post here at least once every day, and if we have a good conversation going I'll post more.

here are just three people who'd be posting in this thread.......so, it''ll be sorta boring.......idk..hopefully not!

but really, i'm not waiting THAT much for Eid-ul-Adha.........u just don't feel the same intensity and suspense that you feel for Eid ul Fitr.....waiting the whole Ramadan at the same time feeling sad that Ramadan itself is over: this whole mixed feeling doesn't really work for me (at least) during Eid ul Adha.

The BEST part of Eid ul Adha does NOT happen in the US......that's why it's quite boring here!

Can any of you guess what I'm talking about? I think stuck knows what I'm referring to! ;)

well, it's to be expected. But it's not all that fun over here either. People's deep pockets seem to magically shrink into nothingness by the time it comes, and I don't get any cash!

wait what doesn't happen in the U.S.?

STuck: you are WRONG! lol. I was talking abt Eid ul Adha particular.

What doesn't happen in the US? Look at post # 18. Most of us are hardly aware of when this slaughtering happens, and how it happens, in the US. But back in other countries (or most other I should say) The major attraction is like which person in the community is buying the costliest cow/sheep/camel and everyone waits after prayer to see the animals to be slaughtered, instead of going to the slaughter house and just buying the meat as you'd any other time.

ehhhhhh...it's pretty fun here in america too. Don't hate....

haha........it's fun here during Eid? in what exact way sheed?

true, not as much fun here during eid.
depends on where you live, if you live in a middle of nowhere, then eid is no fun.
and yah, that includes austin.

but if you lived in NYC, Chicago, Houston, or LA...

there is one downside about Eid in Egypt. None of the butchers pay attention to hygene, so when each Butchery :) slaughters 5 or 6 sheep/cows/bulls at the same time, blood tends to spread. :D
Last eid, I went to my Grandmother's slum neighborhood, and the three famous butchers all started at once (18 sheep and 3 or 4 cows I believe)...add the enormous amounts of blood to the non-stop rain, and bad plumbing, cow urine (lol), and the smell of their guts when they pull it out, and you'l have the WORST odor any human has ever come up with! LMAO!
so yeah, that sucks...but it's still fun to try to get acros a street covered in blood, burst drain pipes, and crap.....

Stuck........Eid is almost the same in any Muslim Country! I had such a similar experience......the most interesting fact is that it rains a lot on Eid ul Adha.....it ALWAYS does! Even during winter to wash off the blood and cow wastes and stuffs........roads are pretty unendurable due to the odors and waste......till the next week.....but still, there lies enormous fun in it...at least it's different than any other time!

different in that stepping in goat guts becomes a given...

omg i forgot to post yesterday.

bump bump....

Eid hasn't been on my mind at all because of the ****ING PRACTICAL CHEM TEST I HAVE TOMORROW THAT I'VE BEEN STUDYING FOR FOR A WEEK BUT STILL CAN'T MEMORIZE!!!!!!

this week is going really bad for me....SO MUCH .....ugh....i hate education...who invented that thing anyway?! agh...

o snap i figure out SAT stuff tonight. PRAY FOR ME

Insha'Allah, you will ace your SATs...which one you took by the way? IIs or Reasoning?

just had a bio test today, and a headache right after it.

Good luck, Sheed!

Hi this is a little random but well I am some what desperate. At my school we are required to write a senior thesis and then do a physical project related. I am done with my paper, but I one of the requirements is an interview. I am writting on the shariah. I had an interview set up with a local Imam, but things fell through. I was wondering if any one would be willing to be interviewed. I would really apperciate it!
please PM me is this is all a possibility
