So to begin im 30 years old and have my associates degree in general studies. I currently have 122 credit hours total as i returned to school to do the nursing program at my community college which i was accepted to but have not begun. ( total cost 10k).
My other 2 options are to transfer to a local private college that does a lot of online classes and do either an accelerated bachelors in healthcare management (18 month program all online) , or to do a bachelors in Computer information systems ( 15 to 20 months)
The private school does cost about 25k a year. Both of these would be able to work around my full time schedule but I do not know anything about jobs or pay in these 2 bachelor degree fields.
Does anyone who may know about these fields have any sugggestions?
I am a BSN nurse and for u to progress in Nursing to become a manager or run a clinic, you need a BSN, which you can get online but just to realize that the AA is the starting degree, not necessarily your final degree unless you want to stay doing bedside nursing or home visits.
A healthcare management degree would be worthwhile after you have the AA in nursing. Without it as a base, I don’t know how far up the ladder you can go interms of salary.
A computer degree in theory is the most easy to get employment though only if the school is reputable and does a good job with classes. If you want to do an online option, you might find a similar online program sponsored by a name brand school. Like one from this list.
