I applied EA and got deferred. Yesterday (Dec28) i received a letter in the mail saying that I should apply to Fordham and that the application fee would be waived. Does this mean I have to re-apply as a regular decision applicant or could it have been an admissions mistake?

Sounds like one of the letters/emails my daughter has been getting from schools she hasn’t applied to, urging her to apply. It’s very unlikely that you need to apply again. But don’t ask us; ask Fordham admissions.

No. You do NOT need to apply again. Those letters are generated by a computer. Based on projected likely students who might have a profile that fits with Fordham and are likely going to attend if offered admission. It happens every year, and its embarrassing.

What you need to do is make sure your grades are superior this semester and submit them ASAP and inform Fordham if its your top choice (but be genuine.) If its not your top choice then go to plan B and just see what happens.

Another record year for applicants it seems this year, so the applicant pool is hyper selective. Good for those already attending, but rough on those trying to get in. Good luck.

You definitely don’t need to re-apply. My daughter got one too, and was accepted to Fordham over a month ago. It arrived at our old address, so we know it’s a separate database than the one we have used for the application process.
