I checked the tabs per Rich’s instructions too and am now able to pay the deposit. We don’t have a letter yet here in Colorado.

Someone has asked about why I thought letters were coming UPS. It says on the BC prospective student website that presidential scholar notifcations go out on 12/18/09 via UPS Ground. I assumed all notifications would go out the same way. Since many have gotten letter via USPS I guess that is not the case. So if the envelope comes via UPS and not mail that may mean that one is being considered for the presidential scholarship?

Good luck to everyone, I hope the post office delivers a lot of letters tomorrow!

I can now pay the deposit!!!
yesterday “Pay enrollement confirmation fee” tab was popped up and today pay enrollment fee is accessible!! I did not get letter yet.
I’m so happy lol
BC class of 2014

just like everyone else, i had the tabs yesterdy but everytime i tried to access them it would dump me back to the main screen…now today, i can actually click on them and if i wanted to, i can pay my enrollment fee…it must mean we are in because if they make it possible to pay, it would be pretty stupid to do it and then be rejected.

I understand that BC mails their acceptances in batches, by school. If this is true, it may mean that students accepted by one school, i.e., the Business School, receive their notices within days but not at the same time as another school, i.e., the Nursing School. Don’t despair:)

Dear kcup415 : Great data and thank you for sharing with the college confidential members. In our chance-me threads for early admission, we have been underscoring the point about board scores and class rank in the early admissions pool throughout the Fall semester.

The Boston College middle 50% for the full class on the ACT is 29-32 and those numbers have been rising steadily over the last seven years (according to the BC Fact Book). Similarly, the SAT scores are 1880-2130 in the middle 50%. The fact that the average early access board scores are 32 (ACT) and 2121 (SAT) tells you that they have centered around the breakpoint for the upper quartile, a reasonable expectation.

Notice that this year’s early admission pool is roughly 2:2:1 between acceptances, deferrals, and rejections among the 5800 early applications. (Normally, the ratio is closer to 1:3:1 overall.) Clearly a sign of the economic times, Boston College, like many other schools, will likely be trying to get a better handle on the early admission group this year compared to years past. This might be a leading indicator that the regular decision pool could be more selective this year than year’s past and further drive up standards in the admitted student’s pool.
