My appeal went through!!!!

My friend found out a little over a week after he sent in his appeal (he sent it on the 14th). He found out from the same website that tells you your appeal was accepted and under review.

thats the day i sent mines! (14th)

maybe its a good sign i didnt get mine back? :/

"some person on justine's blog posted saying that he spoke to the admissions office today and they said they don't plan on posting appeal decisions online, and rather we will receive notification via snail mail within the next week or two. but.. ahh!"

yeah that's def wrong. I'm filabusta's friend, and I found out online.

heh didn't know u were on cc too!

if my appeal goes through, i will get housing before anyone because i already made the ucla drumline, but if i wasnt in the band, i would live in a carboard box if i didnt get housing

Do we know for sure that UCLA will leave people admitted via appeal out in the cold? UC Davis gives successful appealers an extended deadline to get all their registration done.

GAHHH my appeal is still not updated jumps out window

What's taking those idiots so long?

If I had to take a guess I would say "They just got Pokemon Diamond" and or "They are watching this video <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGyziabBogk">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGyziabBogk</a>"
But seriously, they get a lot of appeals in such a short time frame. They get 1000 in two weeks. Normally they deal with more but in a much longer time frame.

when your appeal is being read, it all comes down to if the reader had a good morning or if they had the right coffee ;(

haha...

Well, they finally updated my appeal page. Rejected. :'(

Good luck to the rest of you.

i'm sorry, tresfleur. but i know you're gonna do great wherever you go even if its not ucla. and plus, if you want to have the ucla experience, you can always try to transfer after 2 years or go to grad school there :)

btw, when did you send in your letter of appeal to them?

Thanks. Yeah, I plan to transfer after two years of community college, mainly because my other choices aren't so great. I don't want to get stuck in the CSU system. :-/ I was hoping UCLA would at least offer me spring admission.

I mailed my appeal on April 7. I believe they received it April 11.

does anyone know the number for the appeal office if they even have a number or do we just reach the admissions office cause my counselor was going to call to check up on my application but is there a certain number?

im sorry tresfleur..i agree with starrynight. you will succeed anywhere u go!

GAHHHHH why will my appeal status not change?

Every time I try calling and get past all the number options, the phone diconnects...I've tried from my cell and a landline phone. It says "please hold for the next admissions officer," then beeps and hangs up.

This happening to anyone else? This has happened to me for the past 2 days.

I couldn't get through to them, but a friend of mine called and said they are going through them in the order they recieved them, so what ever day they were recieved...they will get back to you in 3 weeks from that date.

Also, they probably wanted to see how many people actually submitted an SIR to UCLA before they told how many appeal people they are going to accept.

Hey! They haven't updated my status either so I waited on the phone for 30 minutes to find out what was up, she said that they got back to you 2 weeks from the day they input your appeal. Since today is the last day to sign up for housing at LA, then you are not guaranteed housing if you are admitted because of the appeal. But she said you can sign up for late housing and you still have a chance!

congrats on the people whos appeal went through.I hope those rejected luck in everything they do.
