^ hey dude that’s also appealing “that other school in la”
im in the exact same boat as you :)

um…does anyone know when ucla usually make appeal decisions…?
is it usually after may 1st or before…?

damm, i felt like i completely blew it by not submitting the freaking ucla supplemental app

thank you! somebody that makes an appeal thread for the '09 :] well i mailed mine in thursday. my status on the admissions site hasn’t changed yet though.

my friend appealed too, hopefully he’ll get in

haha uchopeful73

best wishes to you and to all

anyone please let us know if you hearing anything

rbk, thanks for creating the thread. I did not find much info in 2008 thread. Tho’ there was active discussion in 2007. So hopefully folks will post here. it will help waiting easier and also help the next year. here is my info:

Freshman or transfer: freshman
applied for appeal on: march 20th.
current status: pending
major: mechanical engineering
recommendation letters: yes (2)
stats: 2250 sat (single sitting- i wish i tried again); sat2 math: 760; sat 2 chem 720
gpa: uw 3.8; weighted: 4.2; AP’s and community college courses: >10
class rank: top 20%
basis of appeal: lost 2 months due to car accident in sophomore year; fracture, therapy, etc. I did not mention this in the orginal app (stupid me)
ec’s: nothing extra ordinary. leadership: class president 2 years.
My top college right now is ucsd.

I wish i had not applied to engg.

I’m still waiting on my decision. Scewholistic’s pending status is unnerving since I applied for an appeal March 31st.

My basis of appeal was EC’s. I didn’t mention any of mine in my application for who knows what reason. Just me, being brilliant.

Posted my appeal on 22nd. Did not show up in the system until 29th (exactly a week later).

You didn’t put any ECs?

i dont think we’ll be hearing back until may :[

Appealed. Sent in my letter on April 17th. :stuck_out_tongue: But yeah, I don’t think they will give us our decision until mid-May. I actually appealed first through their marching band and the director, but I got an email saying that the Admissions denied it. So i sent in a regular one as well. Good luck to all of you!

From http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/news/compreview/0308_meeting/appeals_matrix.pdf

“It is UCLA’s usual practice to respond to appeals within three weeks of the date received.”

Good luck to everyone who appealed!

Response within 3 week timeline is definitely not the case for me.

i’m so nervous! worst part is, to find out, we have to keep logging in to check. and one day, the decision will just be there.

^ lol yeah. that will be quite a rush, in a good or bad way. I nearly had a heart attack when I clicked enter to find out the decision in March. >.<

if i can remember from last year’s thread–i saw someone find out their appeals decision as early as like the last week of april of 2008…

Yes, but there were also some who found out as late as mid-May…

yup…
i hate how ucla makes it so unpredictable…

That makes it fun

yeah. and i think i read that some people heard in less then 2 weeks, but generally people that heard so early were ones that got rejected.
