My chance of getting into UCSB, UCI, UCD?

Going to be senior when school year starts, i do live in California

10th-11th GPA: 3.95

ACT: 28 ( i did horrible on the SAT, 1710)

SAT II: US History 770, Chinese 800

3 honor/AP courses through 10th, 11th grade ( 2 more AP classes in 12th grade)

No known class ranks ( most likely top 25%)

very good public high school

EC: did track for 4 years, member of few clubs, got few awards, basically super average :/

Is you gpa wt or un wt ? Are they all a-g UC requirement ? Are you chinese ? If you do, even though you got 800 on satII chinese, it’s not impressive. You 'd much better take another subject test such as math or science. What’s your intended major ? A lot of question marks ? Try to retake SAT1 or ACT. UC just want scores in 1 sitting. You still have time to retake in Oct.

that is right, UC basically look only at the SAT scores. My D could not get into UCLA casue her SAT I is around 2000.

^ Not true! I know countless people, including myself that were able to get into UC schools when their SAT’s were below the average.

Its heavily dependent on the GPA (or at least more so than one may think).

I’m not sure about how admissions will be fluctuating given the budget cuts and increased competition in the overall scheme of things–I would say you have a fair chance. Raise your SAT/ACT and you should be in the door!

@ uscdcc UC schools don’t at ethnicity/race. They may ask for demographic purposes, but ethnicity/race is not a factor on whether you get in or not.

I have peers whose SAT scores were similar to yours, and they made it! Good luck! Make sure you have solid essays!

Thanks for the replies! My GPA is weighted; I think I’m going to take the Math II for SAT II also. I don’t have a intended major yet, is that going to hurt my chances?
