My SAT scores are bad and I intend to imrove on them and come up to 2200 .
I am applying for financial aid too

You have a good shot. However keep in mind that its much tougher for internationals who apply for financial aid. There are probably 300 kids applying from India, and they’ll probably take like 6.

Cone considering I am applying for aid ,how badly will my acceptance be affected

I doubt aid will affect your acceptance too much. you seem like a pretty strong applicant (might want to fix that critical reading SAT score though). Good luck!

The research experience will be a great boost but your SAT reading is really low compared to average score.

Also, JHU is a need aware, which means more money you need, less likely you will get in.

However, if you have SAT reading of at least 700, I think JHU will really like you.

Thank you so much! your comments are really giving me some hope .I will really try hard to get a good SAT score in the test I am writing this month .

I was also thinking of applying to Cornell ,UPenn and Berkely…do you think I have chances there?
If I improve my CR scores and try getting an overall of 2200 and do well in a few Indian Olympiads coming up the next month (prestigious exams ) ,Do I have a chance getting the Hodson Trust scholarship?

Although JHU is need aware for internationals, the truth is that they will probably take very few. You might be better off applying to the need-blind schools for internationals. There are only a handful, and I can’t remember which ones they are.

If you can’t get your SAT CR reading score up, then you have an uphill battle.

harvard, yale, princeton, pomona(only if you are in the us and finished high school in full 4 yrs) Dartmouth, MIT, Amherst.
