Spent last summer training for Polo, and doing spanish class at a community college. Will spend this summer most likely in Stanford Summer College program.

I want to go to:

Notre Dame
Stanford
UCLA
Berkeley
Cornell
Rice
UPenn
Columbia

I think you got a decent chance. For Notre Dame, Stanford, UCLA, UCBerk you should send the ACT scores more than the SAT my opinion. Then Cornell, UPenn, Columbia, and Rice you send the SAT score. Notre Dame and Rice are probably your safeties. you can't really expect anything from ivies cause they always change and you don't really know your exact chances. the applications this year went up alot, that many kids from my school got rejected during the ED process with STELLAR APPLICATIONS.

Send ACTs for all of those schools. Your SATs are competitive, but not so much for the schools you mentioned. Notre Dame and Rice are not safeties for anyone. You've got to find more serious safeties – your in-state school, a "lesser" private, etc.

A change to my thing:

I will NOT be attending Summer college (its too damn expensive), and will just be taking a physics course, playing water polo, and working at the hospital. I might do an internship, but I need to find one, maybe just ROP.

Extra stuff too:

work experience:

I tutored kids during the summer for community service, and was recently a personal paid tutor for some math prodigy 3rd grader.

Also, I am Roman Catholic. That might help getting into ND? iono.

Stanford, UPENN, Colombia are reaches
ND, UCLA, Berkley, Cornell, and Rice are all matches/ high matches

woo~ water polo pwns, so much fun x3 arn't you glad you made the switch over from puny tennis? ;)

hobo, reaches meaning stretches? Like improbable chances?

High matches meaning the same thing?

yes I am glad I switched to polo. I gained 15 pounds of muscle and have a nice tan haha

and yes reaches=improbable or just very difficult. You can never tell though with Ivies ;o As for the high matches I meant probably only for Cornell, most of those are just matches imo.

yep :) great way to stay in shape...unfortunately polo is over for me as i leave high school, i lost my tan and muscle xD

I do not think you are reaching too much. You definitely have a good chance at getting into these schools. Even though you would most likely get into Notre Dame, it still should be considered a realistic reach.

Make sure you show interest (visit/interview,etc) in the schools you definitely want to get into and have good back up schools (just in case).

bbbb
uuuu
mmm
pppp

im probably gonna show interest with knowledge from just online research, i can't afford to go to travel to any the University campuses i want to apply to.

and Update:

more scores now:

World History 5
Calc BC 5/5
US HIstory 4
Chem 4 <--- SPent most of time studying all the damn chapters our inept instructor didn't teach

More specific on my ACT: 35 math, 35 english, 32 reading, 33 Science, 10 essay, 34 composite

SAT II
Math - 760 need to take again
Chem - 770
US History - 760

schools in mind (changed a little):

Stanford
Harvard - only because i got an app in the mail lol
NW
ND
Washington in St. Louis

are you kidding me? Send your ACT SCORE to Rice.... Dont listen to whoever told you to send your SAT Score

Stat-wise, if you use your ACT you're pretty secure. And your ECs are nice between the portfolio and music. However, don't count on volunteering, math, or JV sports to give you any big boost.

Stanford- Reach
Harvard - Reach
NW- High match
ND- Match
Washington in St. Louis- High match (show interest! They've been known to waitlist qualified students for fear they won't attend.)

That's not a bad starting point for a list, but you need more genuine matches (Rice might be a good choice) and some safeties. State schools are usually a good bet for safeties--look for schools with 40-50% or higher acceptance rates where you fall within the top 25% of the students stat-wise.
