Hi. I moved to California from Minnesota last summer.
GPA: Unweighted: around 3.8 Weighted: 4.3 (Midwest does not have many Ap's)
SAT I: 1910 I am hoping for a 2000+ second time around
Sat II's: Hopefully 700+ on math and same for bio
Extracurriculars: Radilologist assistant at hospital, NHS, CSF, National History day Regional Finalist, Active member of Church, 3 Years tennis
Nationality: American-Indian

I would like to go to UCLA, UC Berkeley, UCSD, or USC. I have accepted that I will not get into UCLA or UCB but I would like to know if UCSD is possible.

I don't see why you won't get into UCLA or UCB looking at your outstanding achievements. My guess is that you will get into UCSD as long as your college essay goes well.

UCLA: slight reach
UCB: slight reach (they're practically the same stuff)
UCSD: kinda, sorta a reach (only reason i say that is cuz ur SATs are at the best decent, 2000+ will make it a match)
USC: reach (again SATs)

are you considered in-state? that would be a major factor in determining your chances. look that up, and I don't think UCs practice aff action, so URM status will have little to no effect. calculate your UC GPA. remember that UCSD and UCB are more numbers-based than LA. I'd concentrate on pulling up the SAT score and studying for SAT IIs.

As of now (assuming that UC GPA is same as weighted and SAT is 1910 ), UCSD should be a slight reach. Remember that you can always appeal. I know 2 people who got into SD this year through appeals. They seem a bit more lenient.

Since you are in a CA state school and your GPA is transfered to that school, then that means your ranks should be present there. So basically in a CA state school, the top 4 percent of the school is accepted with 99% while every 5 % down, the chances decreases. If your top 4 percent, I'm pretty sure you'll get into one of those schools.

when i went to the senior weekend for the accepted students to cal i met students with a 4.1 and 990 on their sats!!! i was stunned! i am an entering freshman at ucla! your personal statement is crucial!!! if you want to be safe take your test over. i think you have a good chance at both ucla and cal! check the elc program that the uc's have (if you are in the top 4% of your class you are guaranteed admission to uci, ucsb, and ucm). if you really are a native american your chances at any university just went way way up!!

yes, it's true there's no aa, but they still see your name...which might tell them a little about yourself. otherwise you could write about iit in your personal statement.
