I have wanted to go to Clemson for as long as I can remember. It has always been a great place for tradition (not to mention the Band That Shakes The Southland!) Now that the time has come for me to apply, I’m not sure if I can get in. Hopefully you guys can help me out.
GPA: 4.9 (Weighted) (Cumulative Core/Academic GPA: 99.6 out of 100)
*AP Courses:
AP Biology: 4
AP US History: 4
AP Calculus AB: TBD
*My school only offers 5 AP classes, and I could only take 3 due to needing to complete my foreign language classes. All of my other academic classes are Honors.
SAT: 1240 (REDESIGNED)
ACT: 32
There aren’t many clubs at my school, except for the Nationally-Known Clubs (i.e. Key Club).
Extracurriculars:
FBLA: Treasurer (Freshman), Secretary (Sophomore), and President (Junior and Senior)
Civitan (Service-based, especially with those with special needs): Charted club along with a classmate. Vice-President (Freshman and Sophomore) and President (Junior and Senior)
Student Government: Vice-President (Junior) (Possibly not participating Senior Year)
Yearbook: Editor (Freshman), Business Manager (Sophomore and Junior), and Editor-and-chief (Senior)
Marching Band: Flute (8th), Color Guard (Freshman - Senior), and Captain (Junior and Senior)
Concert Band: Flute (First Chair) (Freshman - Senior)
I plan on double-majoring in Secondary Education and Mathematics, and if you can’t tell, I plan on being a part of the Tiger Band (whether it be as a guard member or a flute player).
I think your ACT is definitely on the higher end for clemson. Your cumulative GPA/100 is amazing. The only thing I worry about is your AP’s but I would mention the fact that your school only offered 5 in your essay! That will make them understand. Otherwise you look like a good candidate! Most people who get in have your stats (except for the AP’s). Remember clemson doesn’t care about extracurriculars so while yours are nice they won’t matter in their admissions process. it’s all about the stats which you have. good luck. im applying this year too!
