I'm female and Hispanic, as well as a Kansas resident. I got a 24 on my ACT. When I was in high school, I was president of Writers Club and Schools for Schools (a fund-raising club for African children). I have my GED, with scores over 600 in all but math, where I got a 500. My composite score was 3050 out of 4000. I have my GED because at the end of my junior year (07/08), I suffered some health and family complications, so I moved around and had to drop out. I went back to school and got my GED through the school. I wish I could have stayed in, but it was out of my control.

Anyway, I've been trying really hard to get into KU. I don't want this whole GED thing to mess up my future.

I don't know how to interpret your stats other than your ACT score.

The University of Arkansas (I'm from Arkansas) generally accepts students who have a 24 ACT with anywhere between a 2.80-3.00 GPA. Any GPA lower than that, and you probably get denied. Given that the U of A is a worse school than Kansas, it's probably a little easier to get in.

So, if your general stats are about the equivalent of a 24 ACT and 3.00 GPA I think you might get in.

But, just in case you don't know, worst case scenario is that you'll have to go to a community college for a year or two and then transfer to KU. Community colleges are a lot cheaper and you can get your core classes out of the way there...so it's really not the end of the world if you have to go to a CC.

...Don't take anything I say with certainty though. I'm just a senior in high school who probably knows no more than you about colleges.
