My Chances at Texas A&M and TCU?

Hello, I have been freaking out about my chances at Texas A&M and TCU for the last couple of weeks so I decided to ask you guys for help. I made a 25 on my ACT and a total or whatever the name is, score of 1420 on the SAT. I am in the National Honor Society, I am also the Co-President of a student led organization at the local high school and I have held leadership positions in the High School Marching band. I applied for Texas A&M in the middle of October and TCU in November. I would just like to know my chances, and thank you to whoever does answer this! :)

Well, first of all, is the 1420 a total score, including writing? or is that just math and reading? if it’s the second one, that’s really good. but if it’s the first…that’s really not good. 1500 is average, and if that is your total score, you didn’t exactly do too hot. both of those scores are fairly difficult to get into, and with scores like yours, you will probably have a difficult time gaining admissions. Your EC’s will help though, and you never know! And who are we to tell you if you can get in or not? we’re just a bunch of highschoolers. Good luck!

If you are in the top 10% of your graduating class, then you have an excellent chance of getting in; however, if your total score is 1420 on the SAT, then you might want to look for a different school than Texas A&M. My kid scored a 2000 on the SAT and he struggles at A&M. It is a tough school.
