My chances at UC Irvine, UCSB, and UC Santa Cruz

3.56 GPA
1830 SAT
2 summers working in an office
1 job as a ticket scanner
volunteer/ art teacher at an elderly home
volunteer at a wildlife center(only a couple times though)
11 years of Chinese School
1 year jv and 2 years varsity field hockey
1 year jv and planning on 2 years varsity badminton(including senior year)
co-president of a club that helps animals at school
(i failed 1 semester of math but made it up online with a B, the representative from santa cruz said it wouldn't hurt my chances as long as I made it up)

UC Irvine is my TOP choice, and UCSB is my second. I think I'm more in the reach of UC Santa Cruz though but I really want to go to UC Irvine. Will my extracurricular activities make a difference? Everyone that I've talked to said I don't have a chance at UCSB and UC Irvine but i know someone that got in 2 years ago to both UCI and UCSB with a 1700 and 3.8.

IF ANYBODY WITH A 3.5 OR BELOW MADE IT INTO UCI OR UCSB WITHIN THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS PLEASE TELL ME

@hexiaoyan - was wondering if you got the UCI supplemental questionnaire?

If you do a web search for UCXX common data set - you can find just the info you are looking for.
According to this about 8% of the freshman at UCI had 3.5 or less last year.
Good luck!
