Hey, everyone. I just wanted to gauge my chances of getting into the UCLA. My Un weighted Gpa is 3.69.
My ACT Composite is 30.
My ACT English is 34.
My ACT Math is 32.
My ACT Reading is 26.
My ACT Science is 29.
AP SCORES:
AP Computer Science Principles- 3
AP Government - 4
AP Calculus AB subscore - 5
AP Calculus BC - 3
AP Physics E&M - 2
I have taken lots of AP and Honors Classes. I am in PSEO. I volunteer a lot, and I am very politically active. I am a member of my Speech team, and many other activities. I plan to be an Economics Major. I am OOS in MN.
I would calculate your Capped Weighted UC GPA but to be honest being OOS, ACT 30 and GPA at the low end, your chances are a lot less than the 14% accepted rate in fall 2018. I would look at your in-state flagship UMinn for an affordable option in Econ.
UCLA is so competitive that even kids with 4.0s don’t get in with 31+ . You can apply but make sure you apply to a wide variety of schools to ensure you have a place that will accept you and you will enjoy going to
If by chance you are admitted you would be full pay. No financial aid for OOS students.

Post capped weighted and fully weighted.
Can your family afford $65K/ year to attend with little to no financial aid?
UCLA should be considered a Reach school regardless of stats. Just based on your UW GPA, your UC capped weighted GPA could be anywhere from 3.8 to 4.0.
Freshman admit rates for UC GPA of 3.80-4.19 capped weighted and not major specific:
UCLA: 11.7%
Also your SAT is at the 25th percentile.
Your UC capped weighted GPA would be somewhere around 3.95-4.00 as a best guess. Average is 4.23. With a ACT of 30, your odds would be extremely low of getting into UCLA, as others have mentioned, probably pretty close to 0.
@readthetealeaves UCLA is my reach school for sure. I have a list of colleges with varying difficulties. I already got into my top choice so I’m taking my chances
@Youngstudent18 Ok good. I just don’t like anyone to be disappointed. If you have an admit to a top choice and you are just taking chances go for it
can you pay $65k per year for four years? If not, don’t waste any more time on a UC including SD and D.
Given the current pool, not likely
