My chances at University of Michigan

I was wondering if someone would help judge my chances

white male from kentucky
michigan gpa: 4.0 unweighted regular: 3.95
SAT: 800 Verbal 800 writing 700 math
rank: 2/209
course load has been all honors and all honors + 3 aps junior year
AP scores 5 ap calculus AB 5 ap history 4 ap chemistry
EC's fairly weak but some leadership

with rolling admissions i could probably get my app in by mid to late october.
I also would like to know about financial aid for out of state people. I am willing to take out loans but if the aid is very poor cost could be a concern.
Also does michigan offer anything for national merit out of state?
Thank you for your time.

like, near 100% you lucky person

What is the "michigan GPA"

is it true then ECs are weigtend very liightly in umich? because my stats are quite near to the OP's.

Michigan does give good aid for students of your caliber, so you certainly have a chance of getting good aid. And you are pretty much in. Apply as soon as possible. Why are you waiting until mid October? Why don't you apply this week and get your acceptance by mid-October instead?

The Michigan GPA is an unweighted GPA counting only your 5 academic classes, omitting freshman and senior year grades, as well as all +'s and -'s. So you get a grade of 4, 3, 2, 1, or 0 for every class, not 3.66, etc.

My counselor requires that our applications be in 2 weeks before we want them sent. I will probably get it in sooner, but i was giving a conservative estimate. I still have to work on the application some though.

don't worry, you could literally apply at the last possible second and still get in!

michigan doesnt count first semester senior grades?

They do count first semester Senior grades if needed. If an applicant with a 4.0 unweighed GPA and 2300 SAT score applies in September, Michigan will most likely accept that student by mid October and never even both looking at her/his senior grades. But if a student has average grades and scores (3.75 unweighed GPA with 2000 on the SAT or 29 on the ACT), there is a chance that student will be deferred at which point senior grades will be considered.
