Extracurriculars: (does this matter a lot for NYU?)
Speech team
Newspaper

Outside of school activities:
weekend film classes at SAIC (hopefully assistantship this spring)

Ok. I just got a laptop and a film editing program for christmas, so I can begin working on my portfolio.
Because I believe I have pretty decent academics, does that affect how much they will look at my portfolio?
And what is important for the portfolio film? I know that cool effects probably aren't what they're looking for.
Are they looking for it to be well written or beautifully shot? Or both?
What about the other portfolio types that you can submit? Do they like a film portfolio better than say a series of drawings, or a creative writing piece?
And I'm not taking a TV/radio class which my school offers because I heard that it's ******** and total blowoff class. Will this hurt me?
So, what are my chances?!
Thanks : )

I think as long as you can get over 2100 SAT or Over 31/32 ACT, you will get into Tisch.
