My Chances for University of Texas at Austin

Not too sure what my chances are but I've filled out all my apps, I just need to do the Topic A Essay. I've already done the topic B essay for a school assignment.

SAT:
Reading: 680
Math: 710
Writing: 710

GPA:
3.24 out of 4.00
Weighted Grade out of 100 - 90.86

I've been taking advanced classes since freshman year, Pre-Cal as a Soph, AP English III and IV, World Experience & Global Experience (a step above Pre-Ap during freshman and sophomore years), AP Stat, AP Psychology, Pre-Ap Japanese I-III (killed my GPA :O ). I also have a credit for a College Algebra course from my local community college as a part of a dual credit app. Basically, I didn't try as hard as I should have and I ended up with a couple of C's and B's throughout my last 3 years.

Resume/Activities:

HS Soccer Program all 4 years
JV Captain Freshman Year
Varsity since Sophomore Year.

Key club (volunteer club) - Senior Year
Student Council - Freshman and Sophomore Year
Japanese Club - Freshman - Junior Year

Basically, I'm just wondering if I have an outside shot if I can write two really good essays. I know my grades are garbage :(

And if anyone can suggest any alternatives, any good schools that are either in Texas, West or East coast. I am also applying to Southern Methodist University in Dallas, UNT, UTD, and Southwestern in Georgetown. I was going to apply to a couple of Uni's but I have not taken the required SAT Subject tests. I am registered for the regular SAT again for December.

Bump… Should I standby for the December SAT subject tests instead of retaking my SAT so I can apply to Universities that require them.

Also considering Baylor. Does anyone know if UT will consider Dec. 4 SAT I scores if I specified that I will be taking it again in the college application?

Bump -_-

Basically if someone could chance the following, I’d appreciate it. I would definately chance back but idno if I can give an accurate response, since this is the first time I have requested chancing.

University of Texas at Austin
University of Texas at Dallas
SMU
Baylor
Southwestern
