My chances of admissions at Binghamton University

I will greatly appreciate it if you would answer my question honestly!!
Hi, I am a senior and plan to graduate in June of 2009.
I am very interested in attending Binghamton University.
I want to major in Art History&Criticism in Binghamton University.
I go to a private school in NYC.
My GPA is 3.82 (non-weighted)
I took the AP Art History in my junior year and did well on the AP exam in May.
My SAT scores - Critical Reading:510, Math:620, Writing: 600.
I know that my SAT scores are not outstanding.
I have been a staff of yearbook club in my school since my sophomore year. I was an elected class president and an elected student body member. + I have a lot of extra curricular activities.
I am worried that I will be rejected by Bing because I have not taken many AP or honors classes thoughout my high school years.
I've volunteered at school art shows since my sophomore year.
During the summer(11th grade), I took art history class and art class at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
And I will be studying museum studies at the Museum of Modern Art from Feb. 4th to May 21st.
I have heard that it is difficult to get into Binghamton University, but Binghamton University has been my first choice college since my sophomore year.
Do I have a shot to get into Binghamton University?

Binghamton is particularly tough this year because of increased applicants. With your SATs it is probably a reach. Did you actually apply? You did not say.

yes I applied to Binghamton University.
I applied to Binghamton as an international student.
I have been in the states for 3 years and gone to a private high school in NYC.
I have heard that Binghamton would be tough this year...But do I have a shot??
I know I have to wait till April to get my letter of acceptance/rejection, but I am very nervous that I won't be able to go to Binghamton.

It may be a problem with be your SAT scores. many of the kids at my school with much higher SAT's who applied EA were deferred....also Bing said they received about 50% more app's than last year. Good Luck

My SAT scores were a TAD higher and I got in EA last year, but it's going to be harder this year...

Your SAT scores are low for Bing, sorry.

A 3.82 unweighted average at a good NYC private school, even without honors, will make up for low SAT's, esp if you are from an underprivileged background. It sounds like you have really focused on what you want to do and will be successful at any college you go to. Good luck!!
