My Chances of getting accepted to Boston University?

Rank 1/312

1950 on at Sats

650 - CR
620 - M
680 - W

Member of three national honor societies, I have a part time job and I am an officer of a volunteer club at school.

Please give me an idea of if I would get accepted and if I’d get any good scholarships.

I’m deciding to apply last minute so I would really appreciate a reply.

Thanks in advance to anyone who replies!

-Your SAT score is a little low for this school. The 75th percentile score is a 2080 while the 25th percentile score is a 1780.
-You didn’t state what your UW and W GPA were, but based on your class rank, I’m going to assume they’re both high.
-Your EC’s are ok, but you’re not really involved in a lot of activities (I’m guessing the reason why is b/c of your part-time job). If you can get involved in another club by the time you send in your application for BU, your chances might be a little higher.
-I’m not sure what scholarship you can get when you apply to BU. Check the financial aid section of the BU website and see where you may qualify.

Overall, you’re going to have a hard time getting into Boston University based on your SAT score and the ECs that you’re involved. Apply to some safety schools that have your major.

Hope this helps and good luck applying!

Thanks for the quick reply! My weighted GPA is a 4.48, unweighted is about a 3.8 or 3.9. I’ve already applied to a lot of lower standard schools and just had the thought to apply here. I’m still not sure if I even will, I just wanted some insight to see if it would be worth it. From your response I might not just because even if I do get accepted it doesn’t seem like I would be receiving much scholarship money and that’s the reason why I held off on higher quality schools in the first place. Thanks for your help!
