I’m a junior transfer coming from a community college. I have a 3.6 GPA (as of right now, I have this current spring 2017 semester left) and I finished IGETC and all required major prep courses for the chemistry major except for Physics 2A and Physics 2B. I finished most of the required course work hoping to transfer as a biology major, for which physics was not required major prep. I got accepted today as a CHEM major but since this is an impacted major, what are the chances of my admission getting rescinded? I’m freaking out right now honestly.
I already emailed admissions earlier today inquiring about it but I need to know NOW what I should do. I’m pretty sure my GPA’s going to drop a little after this semester too- I’m currently enrolled in O. Chem II, Calc III, and a women’s history class- so that doesn’t help me. I also know that UCSD doesn’t rescind admissions for incomplete major prep for NON-impacted majors. I just want to know my probable fate as an impacted chemistry major. (I also want to know what I should do to try to prevent this as much as possible. I really do not want to wait another year to apply, and only to take two physics classes.)
