My Chances?

Hi! Even though admission decisions are quite close, i'd like to know how I did in terms of academics/profile during high school. I am Asian/ Pacific Islander and i'm currently attending a pretty competitive school. Scripps is my first choice (dream school), and I was a bit apprehensive about my admission status in Scripps after receiving a rejection letter from UCSD. I'm planning on pursuing an English Major and I also had an interview which lasted for about 35 minutes with a lovely Scripps student. I was wondering in the case of not being accepted, if I should request for an appeal? I do think my SAT score is relatively low a long with my AP scores and my few APs during Junior Year. My Senior grades also aren't helping that much as I felt this year was particularly hard :(!Thanks for reading this!

Private schools do not have an appeal process. You can appeal UCSD if you feel you have a case.

Good luck to you, you should know soon.

Your grades are pretty good and your extracurriculars seem strong. You seem to me to have a solid shot! Hold out for a few more days! If it doesn’t work out, something else will. It always does :)

Thanks! Worried about my SAT score though. It might’ve affected my my SD (admission ) and i’m quite scared about Irvine (pending). Hopefully it will work out like you said! :)

Yup just got rejected from UCSD and UC Irvine. Also got waitlisted from Pitzer and Occidental. My chances are looking that great :(

I also got waitlisted at pitzer and oxy which leaves me with no hope for scripps especially since i didn’t interview but i was accepted at UCSD. I have the same sat score as you, however my first three years i only had 2 APs but straight As and a couple college courses. At this point though, are chances appear to be the same. Freaking out about the fact that i didn’t interview though :(

Didn’t get accepted… looks like it’s going to be UC Santa Barbara or lower for me
