Any input will be appreciated

forgot to mention that I'm out of state

I think that for out of state applicants...that you at least need a 3.4 GPA to even qualify. Your SAT scores look very decent, but I still think you're missing a SAT II Subject test (you need two).

I'm going to agree with what greensam88 says, it all looks wonderful but for your GPA, and you do in fact need another SAT II test.

What is your cumulative GPA from just the "a-g courses"? Because if you took a regular elective and got a poor grade, and thats what is bringing your GPA down, your GPA might in fact be above a 3.4. If you do not know what a-g courses are, the list is also on that page. Basically: At least a C in 2 history classes, 4 english classes, 3 math, two lab science, 2 foreign language, 1 visual/performing arts, and 1 college prep elective. Out of those classes, if your GPA is at least a 3.4, you are eligible. If not, it's time to look elsewhere =/

Please, skim through this and you'll get a better answer than anyone can give here: http://www.admissions.ucsb.edu/SelectionProcess.asp?section=selectionprocess&subsection=eligibility&selectiontype=prospective_freshman

There is a eligibility calculator at the bottom of the page, use it, and let us know =)

First of all thanks for the replies

I checked out the eligibility calculator and my UC Score total was 424, because luckily my GPA will be 3.4 in only the a-g courses. I'm not really sure how my eligibility score matches up with other UCSB applicants, so if someone could enlighten me that would be much appreciated.

Eligibility Calculator results:
"A-G" GPA: 3.40
UC Score Total: 424
UC Score for SAT: 249
UC Score for Subject Tests: 175

Preliminary Eligibility Status
Eligible

where did you find this calculator?? thanks.
