My chances?

I was born in Russia, and came here around 5 years old.

I applied to UW for transfer for Winter 2007.

My stats:

AA Degree
3.42 GPA from Shoreline CC.
Instate
Applied for a History Major

I also took the russian language proficiency test and passed it easily at UW.

My essay was strong and I wrote about how I was depressed because of a certain type of medication I was taking. My grades reflect really low, like 3.1 average with my medication, but for the last year I was off it and pulled a repeated 3.8-4.0 in all my classes. I wrote about being an immigration lawyer, as that is what I want to do. Considering my volunteer efforts with Russians here.

What do you guys think? Today my status changed to "application has gone to full review process"

With the great personal essay that you wrote (they dig stuff that is authentic) and your nontraditional (i.e. not from Bellevue) background, you should be able to get in. If you were a high school senior, you would have some difficulty, but your AA degree shows that you have moved beyond your troubles in high school and are fully capable of succeeding at UW. Good luck to you and let me know how it all goes!

Hehe, thats good news. Thanks man!

Just a question are you a student at UW too? Man, the day I get accepted (hopefully) a huge weight will be lifted off my shoulders.

yeah, i'm a freshman. good luck!
