My essay about "*****"

Okay, so I wrote a college essay about the "F-word." (The topic was to write about an academic experience that inspired you). I wrote about a paper that I wrote in my junior year that was about swearing. I never actually said ****....I used euphemisms throughout. The general gist is that it inspired me to want to study linguistics. It's already submitted - so no talking me out of it, but I was just wondering if it was a risk worth taking or if it will garner me an automatic rejection?

If you've already submitted it, why are you concerned? Just know that you made the best decision you could at the time, and stop worrying about it. Too late now, in any case.

Personally, I think that you definitely took a risk submitting an essay about the F* word... Essentially, the risk is: if a baby-boomer from the admissions community reviews your essay, he might fear whether or not you are qualified to enter the college's mature environment. If a generation-x reader reviews your essay, though - you might just luck out. The Gen-X reader might actually LIKE your originality, and the essay might stick out in his mind when he votes to accept you!
In the end, it's pretty much a gamble.
I do like what 'underscore' said, though: you've already submitted it and it's too late to worry about it. You've rolled the dice; now it's time to pray that they land in your favor!
