I’ve been playing the violin for about 5 years now, and I really love the instrument! However, I am definitely not good enough to enter any violin competitions. Nonetheless, I still want to do something with the violin that would show colleges my passion for it (even though I may not be as good). Any ideas on how to do this? Thank you.
I second this question as I’m a pianist and I’m really passionate about it but I’m not conservatory track or at the right level for competitions.
My ideas would be to do a lot of orchestra and chamber if you haven’t already. Also find some summer programs. Additionally, if there’s a way you can use your passion to do something for your community (e. g. teach kids who can’t afford lessons the basics, perform at nursing homes), that would look really good.
My daughter took international music exam ABRSM to show her commitment and achievement. She passed highest exam which is level 8 for Viola. You should check state music exam which is cheaper and easier.
