one hand I want a really high gpa and I am taking hard as classes. Physics 2, diff eq, quantative analysis, chbe 221. I want a 3.5+ gpa this fall.

On the other hand I want to pledge a top house that requires lots of time and haze like sht. Do you think it's possible to get a 3.5+ with my schedule and pledge at the same time? Inb4 OP it's all time management. I need time to study and put effort for my classes everyday, I am not gonna be procrastinating and putting all nighters.

Taking hard classes and earning a 3.5+ GPA is going to be really hard, especially if you are pledging a top house at U of I. It requires a lot of time and hazing is harsher than you can imagine. I have a couple friends who pledged at top houses and their GPAs dropped significantly, but it’s different for everyone. I recommend you pledge a top house and see how the semester is going (with time managements, grades, etc.). If your grades are dropping and you lack extra time, then you can decide to change plans.
