My feelings towards my junior year..

This is my junior year and I'm so ready to get out of high school and away from the people in my school. My school sucks this year because we switched to 4 small schools which was made by Linda Gates. It basically splits us all up and it supposedly helps us with what we want as careers but it really is just the same. They tore down 1 of our 2 cafeterias so now at lunch we have around 800 people in 1 of them....This is the first time in my life the thought of dropping out actually became a option for me. Anyone have any tips to make the school year seem like it will go faster or at least more enjoyable?

DONT DROP OUT, you'll regret it for the rest of your life

Do all of your work follow directions

Don't get stressed over

relax and enjoy yourself.

start looking at early entrance programs. it'll help you focus in school because you'll need to work towards getting in, and it'll make the end feel closer.
even if you end up waiting, at least you'll have looked at the option of going early.
a lot of schools will let you start after your junior year, as long as you don't want the top-tier schools.

I know a lot of people will immediately start getting defensive since I mention this, but I'm bringing it up only because you mentioned dropping out.
I don't think anyone will argue that it's a much better alternative to dropping out, and it definitely couldn't hurt to look at your options.

Yeah..I'm starting to do college stuff in October. I don't want to drop out because my dad did and I the same amount as he does working part time. Maybe I will just try to get my work done this year and not count days. I've got it counted down till I'm out of school all together. Any more tips would be great too...What exactly do you mean by early entrance programs? And how could I join them?

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't drop out of school. Are you telling me there are no other high schools anywhere? Do some searching! If there aren't any other options, change your mindset. I know it sounds silly, but I've been in a similar situation. Just keep reminding yourself that it will be over soon, it's only 6 hours a day 5 days a week, and it will pay off GREATLY when it's over.

Meanwhile, make school worth your while. Take the classes that sound cool to you, join any clubs that may hold your interest, do ANYTHING that will make you happy to go to school. I have a bunch of hard AP's this year, and one REALLY bad history teacher that I hate, and no lunch period to look foward to, but I have a lot of great elective classes to look forward to this year, and I like school much more than last year, when I was taking easy classes and had too much free time.

I think applying to early entrance programs is going a bit too far. The op didn't say they were bored with the work, more advanced, etc. There's a HUGE difference between I hate school because I'm a megagenius and calculus is like 1+2 to me, and I hate school because they tore down one of our cafeterias.

Do NOT drop out. Seriously. It's only a year or two more.
My sophomore year was the year from hell, no joke. I survived it; you can too.
