My first ever college dilemma

I'm taking English Composition I. On monday, we were assigned an essay and the rough draft was due yesterday(friday). I always write my rough drafts because I don't like wasting paper, especially now with the economy. But yesterday(friday) me and 3 other kids got in trouble because some other guy didn't type his, some girl didn't finish hers, and some guy didn't even have his. Because yesterday(friday) was a peer review day, our teacher made us exchange emails and send our paper's to the other kids that didn't have it(or did it wrong) and to bring in the paper's on monday, edited.
Here's my problem. The one guy's email isn't working. I tried emailing him three times but the website keeps saying that the screen name is invalid. I forgot to give the girl my email address, but she gave me her's, but she doesn't really seem reliable, so I'm scared that she won't even check her email.
So now I'm scared that on monday I'll come in without any of their papers, and get into even more trouble. I don't want to make my teacher think I'm irresponsible! But if I don't have anyone's paper by 7:00 tommorrow night(sunday), I'm gonna email her to tell her, but I don't know the people's names which I exchanged emails with!
What should I do?

I’d email the girl (sounds like you haven’t already) and just hope. If she doesn’t answer, then follow the next bit of advice in relation to her. Since the guy’s email isn’t working, send an email to your professor with his screen name/email in it to let him know it isn’t working. (If she doesn’t answer, let the professor know that.)

As far as the names of the people, just copy their emails in and let the professor know which class/section you’re in. It’s happened to me before, though probably in a smaller class, and the professor was able to figure out who they were based on the email addresses he had. Not always possible, especially in a big class, but it may help. When you email the girl, ask her if she knows the name of the guy, just in case she answers.

Hopefully that works! Good luck!

Try finding them on Facebook.
Seriously.

so you haven’t emailed everyone you are supposed to change papers with (the “unreliable” girl)?

probably that would’ve been the first step.

Solution: [Office Depot Brand Copy Paper 8 1 2 x 11 20 Lb Ream Of 500 Sheets by Office Depot](http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/841195/Office-Depot-Brand-Copy-Paper-8/)

Economy is a bad excuse.

Aside from adding your professor on the cc of the email, let s/he know you are having issues connecting with your classmate. They probably have everyone’s email and would be able to assist you if you have the user-name wrong.

First of all, how did this turn out?

Next, is it possible for you to print your rough drafts double-sided? Or use funky formatting so it takes fewer pages?

Finally, I really don’t like it when people say, “especially now with the economy.” Is that really why you handwrite your rough drafts? I understand the people who cut back spending because they fear that they could lose their jobs soon. I also understand why anyone who doesn’t have a job doesn’t spend because he or she knows that jobs are hard to find now. But it just gets ridiculous when people use “the economy” as an excuse for why they shouldn’t pay for this or that. There really is no inflation right now, so it’s not really like paper is getting more expensive.

/rant. I think I’m over that now. But excuses are still lame.
