In middle school I decided to take Algebra in 7th grade, and honors science in 8th grade. This resulted into me taking Honors Algebra 2 and biology in my freshman year of high school. I received in A in Algebra 1(7th grade), Honors Geometry(8th grade), and Honors Algebra 2(freshman) along with an A in biology (freshman year). Now in sophomore and junior year year I took Honors Pre Cal and AP Calc AB, in which I received a C all four semesters, (my teacher was a b****, and I sucked at calculus lol). So what I’m asking is if colleges will look at my grades in algebra 1 and 2, geometry, and biology. like 90% of my high school class took all these easier classes their sophomore and junior year. Did I just make a mistake by taking advanced math and science classes, or will colleges look at all my math and science class grades from 7th to 9th grade?
SDSU will look at your grades from 9-11th grades to make sure you fulfill the a-g course requirements by passing the classes, but will only use 10-11th grades in their CSU GPA calculation. They will also take into account your HS course rigor and give you extra honors points for UC approved Honors/AP/IB or DE courses in your 10-11th year. Since you took Honors Pre-Cal and AP Calc AB 10-11th grade, you get 4 extra honors points in your GPA calculation and passed the classes with a C. SDSU will not look at your grades from middle school.
