Hey I’m a Junior in high school and Ive pretty much messed it all up. I have had 2 Ds in high school (both in math),
5 Cs ( 1 in geometry and 1 in algebra 2 trig, 1 in an elective, 1 in Ap world history and 1 in chemistry) . I live in a county that uses the block school system where you split the year in 4. First half of the year you take 3-4 classes and the second half you take another 3-4 classes. Im in the second half of my junior year and im freaking out about college. I know its my fault I didn’t prepare for it and got bad grades but I was wondering If i can get into any colleges. The first half of this year I took algebra 2 trig , ap environmental science and band. I got c and d in algebra so i have to repeat it. I got b and b in ap enviromental and a and a in band. Ring now in the second half I’m taking ap lang, ap us history , spanish 3 and band , all of which I’m acing and I believe i can get As on all of them for the whole year. I live near in california , near uc berkley and I know california has great UCs. I know i can’t get into Uc berkley with my grades so i was wondering if I have a chance in getting into another UC? My plan is to go to community college and Ace it so i can transfer if I can’t get into a UC right away.
At the end of Junior year, calculate your CSU/UC GPA: https://rogerhub.com/gpa-calculator-uc/
CSU/UC’s only use 10-11th grades for their GPA calculation but you also need to make sure you meet the a-g course requirements by passing these courses:

Based on your posted grades so far, UC’s look questionable but Cal states are possible. As an in-state applicant, you need a minimum UC GPA of 3.0 to apply and that my get you into UC Merced.
If you have your heart set on a UC, then going to a CC and then transferring would be the best option. The UC’s offer TAG (Transfer admission guarantee).

There are also many Cal States and Privates that you should consider once you have your SAT/ACT scores. Just keep a positive attitude, continue doing well in your classes, do some test prep and you should be able to get into a good college.
