Do you think I can apply to Barnard?? Do I have any Chances??

Needing substantial financial aid may be your biggest hurdle. I really do not know much about Barnard's financial aid for international students, however.
P.S. What is the section-by-section score breakout of your SAT I, as you may be a better candidate for MIT if your SAT I math score is high.

Explicitinnuendo, if you are indeed an international applicant (I read your "South Asian" as an ethnic description, and did not even think that you meant that your were an international applicant...), here is Barnard's policy about financial aid:

[quote]
Students who are not U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents are considered international students. Barnard College has designated approximately three scholarships for international students in each first-year entering class. Applicants who wish to be considered for aid must complete the Barnard College Institutional Financial Aid Application and the College Board International Student Financial Aid Application. However, if your parents file a U.S. Federal income tax return, please complete the CSS Profile Form instead of the International Application. International students who did not apply for financial aid at the time of admission should not expect financial assistance in future years at Barnard. Barnard will continue to aid renewal students who demonstrate need.

If you are a US citizen, then Barnard is "need blind" which means your request for financial aid will have no bearing upon your admission.

All that being said, I think your stats certainly put you in a reasonable position to apply to Barnard....

I am an international student from South Asia. I need huge aid.

Well Do i have chance if i improve my SAT scores to like a 2100?..

You're not likely to be one of the top three (!) international applicants.

I would have to say that the chances of being one of only three internationals to receive the scholarships would be pretty low, but I would say that of anyone applying..even those with perfect SAT's . It's just very, very competitive (even more than Barnard already is) for everyone. So, looking at it that way, what do you really have to lose by applying RD? Who knows what the Ad Com is looking for as to who gets those scholarships? Just be sure you have some fantastic back-up choices....

Best to you!

Thank you for all the input. I have very low chances but applying RD as a high reach wont hurt maybe since I have other match and safeties as well.

Please read my post #2 again. What is the section-by-section breakout of your SAT I scores? I am trying to help you, but cannot do so without this info.

My individual scores are
(Superscored)
CR 540
Math 670
Writing 660

omg, why did your GC think that??i might be applying to barnard too. did you go for a campus visit/ interview?

I think that your SAT I scores (superscored) total 1870 and not 1850 as you originally posted. CR 540 Math 670 Writing 660 = a total of 1870 according to my pre-coffee calculation. Based on your SAT I scores, Barnard College is a reach for you. Your SAT IIs, however, are outstanding and suggest that a different type--but equally selective-- of school may be more in line with your abilities. What do you want to study in college? On the basis of your three SAT IIs in Chemistry, Physics & Math II, it appears that engineering & science may be of interest to you. If so, then you are in luck as engineering schools love female applicants since these schools tend to be majority male.
If you are interested in majoring in science, engineering, math or business, then you may want to consider universities such as Carnegie Mellon University, Rice University, Purdue University, Georgia Tech, Lehigh University, Univ. of Michigan, the Univ. of Rochester, Penn State, etc.
I am not familiar with financial aid for international students, however. Also, it would be helpful to know what you want to study.
It is my opinion that LACs (liberal arts colleges) such as Barnard tend to look very closely at the CR score on the SAT I moreso than math or writing, and CR is your weakness--especially since a 540 CR is the highest after more than one sitting for the SAT I.
