So today I just figured out that my friend is taking honors french and I’m taking standard french even though we’re in the same class and we get same work we get the same grades and everything. I’m completely pissed that our French teacher did not care to share this information with my class. So do you guys have any idea why this is happening?
Does your friend have extra work to do? Can you talk to your teacher about how the honors/regular thing works?
Talk with your friend.
What grade did you get last year?
Also, it’s quite possible you don’t exactly have the same tests, grading rubrics, or assignements as your friend but it’s not obvious - you could ask the teacher if s/he could explain the difference between Honors and Regular, and whether you could join Honors, doing the extra work it entails.
My kids have similar situation but there are some subtle differences between curriculum. In my kid’s French, there is a bit more oral testing, but not much difference. Agree asking the teacher is a good idea. You could also look at your school catalog course descriptions.
@CollegeApplication239 Have you asked your teacher or guidance counselor for more information?
