My junior year sucked

I know junior year is the most important but I screwed up. I’ve always been kind of lazy when it came to my academics. I was much more focused on figure skating than I was on my studies. Throughout fresh and soph year, I breezed by, not giving a dam about my grades. I didn’t challenge myself and take ap classes. By the end of soph year, I recieved a 85.5 average. Knowing that junior year would be important, I decided to take more challenging classes. I took apush, ap illustration ( I go to an art school) and honors trig. I struggled so much with my classes. It was so difficult to balance studying and skating. My illustration class was so incredibly demanding. Everyone at school is serious about persuing art as careers and so the standards were over the roof. I had terrible studying habits and to top it off, I experienced my first heart break. I was so depressed and struggled even more with my classes. By the end of the semester I recieved an 80. However second semester was better. I watched videos of apush reviews instead of reading hundreds of pages from my textbook. I was able to balance my school and skating and cope with depression. By the end of the semester I recieved an 87 average and my transcript average was 85. Although I brought my grades up, I am worried that my first semester would negatively effect my chances of getting into decent colleges. I am aiming for stoony Brooke, hunter, syracuse and Boston U. I also have an 1810 on my sats but i will retake an aim for 1900 in the fall.
