My life I'd coming to AN END!!!

Okay I have January 20th to bring my grades up and I have absolutely ZERO hope!

English honors - 90.5%
Spanish 2 - 90.3% (he's offering extra credit that's going to bring me 2% if I do it)
Ap art history - 85% ( FAILED my last two tests & my horrible with this subject)
Chemistry -91%
Ap euro - 95%
Math analysis - 91%

Idk what to do! My grades are horrible. I need a solid A, but they are all borderline A's! I'm screwed, what if finals come and I totally screw them up? I really want an A in ap art history but there's NO WAY! he gives us absolutely no chance to bring my grades up!

HELLP! Do you guys think miracles will happen and I will have straight A's! :D

Lol don’t worry so much, one B is not going to kill you or ruin your chances of applying anywhere, especially if it’s AP Art History. I’m not sure where you’re thinking of applying, but there are a lot of people who have gotten into top universities, and they’ve had a few B’s (maybe even a C or two) on their transcripts. So try not to stress a lot over this one class, you’ll be okay.

As for your other classes, be sure to study hard for finals and stay on top of those grades. Seize any extra credit opportunities that come your way and of course participate in extra curricular activities (very important!). That’s all I can really say, haha. You said you have until January 20th, so there’s still time to raise your grades to straight A’s! Good luck! :D

I have a few extra-cu. Im in link crew, CSF, and volunteer at the nursing homes and hospital. Is that enough? I want to do a sport, but I’m NO WHERE near athletic! D:

Although it would be beneficial to participate in a school sport, it’s not necessary. Colleges tend to offer athletic scholarships and favor student athletes in the admission process, probably because they don’t have very many athletes at said college. However, like I said, it’s not necessary. Don’t join a school sport just to say you did it. Do it because you have genuine interest in it.

Extra-curriculars are EXTREMELY important, I cannot stress that enough. A lot of people are intelligent students. If colleges were to base their selections solely on grades and test scores, then almost everyone would be admitted. What differentiates one student from another is their extra-curricular activities. This is the deciding factor. If you have amazing extra-curriculars then colleges will be VERY interested in you.

Colleges are looking for interesting people who can help them build and shape a growing community. They like people who think outside the box, people who have passion for what they do (Passion, that’s a word that is thrown around A LOT! Colleges LUURVVE passion :P). They like students who bring in unique qualities to their environment…And think of it this way. When you go to college, what kind of people do you want to meet? Who do you want to be friends with? The girl who spent her high school years surrounded by books and competing in math competitions, or the guy who built a canned food replica of the Eiffel Tower after persuading the entire school to donate them (which was then donated to the children in some other country)? The guy who got perfect scores on the SAT/ACT or the girl who got half her class to join her in the playstation 2 club? Haha, lame examples I know, but I think you get the point. Grades are important, yes, but extra curriculars are as well.

So don’t join a sport because you think you have to. Think about something that you love doing, or something that you think you might be interested in, and DO IT. Go crazy. Make love to it, haha you know what I mean. Join the school marching band. Compete in science fair and other competitions. Display something for an art exhibit. Then see what else you can do with that activity. Also, maybe conduct a special project and do something for the nursing home/hospital. Create a club that you (and others) would love. It doesn’t have to have a lot of members, just a good foundation with students who like the club and are willing to support it. (But please don’t create a club just for the sake of creating one, this will fail quickly. Do it because you want to.)

There are a lot of possibilities out there, many extra-curriculars you can do. Colleges like it when you pursue an interest and show how dedicated you are. So with that in mind, think about who you are as a person, think about the memories you want to make, how you want to be in the future. Think about the things you like to do, and just go from there. See what happens.

Best of luck! :D

Oh your grades aren’t horrible :stuck_out_tongue: Just don’t screw up your finals and you’ll be fine.

OMG! If I were you, I’d be so screwed. I mean, seriously, a 95% in AP Euro is just embarrassing. Everyone would laugh at me for the rest of my life because I couldn’t get a 99%. Also, you got a 91% in both Chemistry and Math Analysis? That’s sad. It would be a miracle if a community college accepted you. You should seriously consider a job as a garbage collector in the future, because your grades are nowhere NEAR par.

On a more serious note, don’t get so worked up, because you’re in a position that most high school kids would envy. Just relax and study well.

i know how it feels…know how it feels

+1 to Dapoliovsky

^The garbage collector thing is pretty stale though.

^^ True, but I approve of the principle of his comment

You don’t deserve to go to college

All of my grades stayed the same except for…
Ap Art History—> 86.05%
Math Analysis ----> 89%

I’m SCREWED FOR SURE!!! Two B’s SHOOT ME NOW BEFORE I SHOOT MYSELF

Yea, you suck

You’re going to do fine. I wouldn’t worry.

i know you want all As, so did I. I did manage to pull them tho (no idea how, to this day). it really isn’t something to kill yourself over.
just watch it play out. if there’s something you can do to change it, then you have nothing to worry about. if there’s nothing you can do to change it, then you have nothing to worry about.

YES…Smarty1201 is back!
You need to calm down, because you have half a month left.

I have a biggest test TOMORROW well not “biggest” but it sure does determine my grade! AHHH

I’m going to study all night long! Yes baby ALL NIGHT! ALL DAY!

& my math teacher is not coming back until the day of the final! Shoot me! Damn it, he needs to come back cause I have a freakin’ B+! Ugh life’s hard!

Protip: Studying all night isn’t the best way to prepare for a test. It’s a good way to fall asleep in the middle, though.

Oh & btw the title should be
“My Life is coming to an end” lol stupid auto corrector. Hahaha

Will you stop? No one is that crazy over grades, and if they are, no one wants to hear it. What should you do? STUDY instead of complaining on a forum and trying to make people tell you have good grades.
