My mom hates community college so much!

…“but i feel that i would have more opportunities if i were to transfer from a CC…”

You still haven’t articulate what those opportunities are. Could you list a few of these perceived opportunities? What I see a lot are parents trying to convince their children to go the Community College route and then transferring to a 4-year University. You have been accepted at a number of California State Universities, but want to attend a CC first and then transitioned to a 4-year Institution. I’m also a big proponent of Community College, but I really do not understand what your motivation are in attending CC first. Is Tuition cost an issue here? Are you trying to somehow afford having your mother pay anything towards your College Education? Is it possible you want to stay close to home to be closer to a love interest?

Do your own thing. I went straight to CSUN and I regretted it. I went to a CC for my second year of college and now I’ve already applied to whichever UC’s I find attractive. You’re not going to school for your mother. My parents told me the same thing about community colleges and I didn’t listen and they finally got convinced that I actually might be doing the right move. So far I’ve been accepted to UCSB and I’m waiting on the others. Don’t ever settle for less! Good luck!
