my non-transferable course grades are low, will it effect me ?

hey guys so my transferable gpa is 3.4 but my non-transferable courses added with it gives me a very low gap. what are the UC’s going to be looking at because with my overall gpa its not looking too good. also I have 4 W’s

UC’s only consider UC transferable classes in your GPA. They do not have an issue with W’s as long as you do not have an excessive amount.

do I have to type in my non-transferable courses in my application

From the UC Counselor Resources:

If the class(s) are on your transcript, you need to report them. Only UC Transferable courses will be used in your transfer GPA calculation.

Hi @Gumbymom I’m new to college confidential and wasn’t sure how to dm you. I really need help. Last year, I was accepted and deferred from UC San Diego. I am currently taking a gap year and want to re-apply to UCLA and Berkeley. However, as a part of the deferment process, UCSD resubmitted my application from last year to only UCSD and will accept me in the Spring. Can I make a new account with a different email to apply to UCLA and Berkeley? I never signed a deferment contract, but I do not want to loose my deferment. My social security number would be on two separate applications for the same term. Thank you!

I would contact UCSD and ask them in general terms if you are locked into attending Spring 2020 or can you change your mind and apply elsewhere. UC’s rarely allow deferment so I would imagine you would lose your Spring 2020 spot and have to reapply for Fall along with UCLA/UCB.

As far as I know you cannot have 2 separate applications for the same term.
