Well due to IB's difficulty I'm deciding whether or not I should drop out. I am currently a Junior and I'm thinking about dropping out of IB because next year would get much harder extremely hard! Plus by dropping out I have a shot to raise my gpa by alot. I'm probably just gonna take honor classes. What would be a better choice stick with IB or drop out and raise up my gpa? Plz and thanks

I don't know about your school, but at mine it's REALLY difficult to drop out of IB, so good luck. Second, I personally had planned to be a Diploma student, but lowered it to Merit. So it's fine to know your limits. Overkilling yourself is not going to do you any good, so if you feel like you really need to do this, then go ahead with it.

Personally, my advice is to do honors in the classes you feel are the hardest, but stick with the IB classes that you may enjoy. I am not a science person, so I never did IB science, but did normal Bio and Physics. Meanwhile, I enjoy the humanities, so I concentrate on those.

Good luck!

would dropping out of IB be good to raise up my gpa to have a better shot at the college of my choice. Or do I have a better shot by sticking with IB. In IB I get Bs or Cs but thats with procrastination and being lazy. If I really tried I would get all Bs but a few As, is it worth it? Can you tell me If I have a better shot at a prestigious college (mainly the UC schools) if I stick with IB or drop out and take honor classes which would significantly raise up my gpa to around a 3.8 or 3.9.

Getting a C in IB is not worth it, even if it is IB. If you really tried and got Bs and As it would definitely be worth it. Plus, then that upward trend with your GPA would look even better.

The best shot you would have is if you continued your IB classes and didn't slack off. Taking honors classes would raise your GPA, but there are penty of students out there who would have the same GPA as you but with IB classes instead of Honors.
