So my roommate has been posting about how much she hates me on social media. Especially tumblr which I think she’s forgotten that I follow her on there. But she never gave an explanation for why she hates me. We’re not really the best of friends, I used to hang out with her friend group but we didn’t have a lot in common and I was a bit socially awkward. But overall I’m a pretty easygoing person. I’m fairly quiet, don’t complain, my half of the room is a bit messy, but she never says it bothers her. Sometimes I’m up late on my laptop but so is she. If she complained or told me what I was doing, I’d do whatever she asked, but she just posts horrible things about how I make her anxious and depressed and how she despises me. I just want us botb to be hapoy here but if I don’t know what I’m doing wrong I can’t improve.
Unfollow her so you don’t have to see her senseless vitriol anymore, and then just do your best to be considerate until the semester’s over and you’re hopefully free of her. Some people just can’t be made happy.
She is a cyber bully. You should never ask anyone why they hate you - it’s pointless. If she voiced a conflict and sought resolution you could try to hash it out. As it is she is ranting online in an unproductive manner while seeking to tarnish your reputation. She is toxic - walk away at the end of the semester and request a new roommate.
