My SAT score sucks

Hi! I’m EDing to Cornell CAS for CS and I’m so so worried.

I’m okay with everything else - 3.8ish unweighted GPA, SAT subject math2 800, chem 780, AP calc 5 chem 4 (I took slightly less APs than other people in my school, but whatever), lots of extracurriculars. But my superscored sat is 1460 in total, 670 reading and 790 math. I tried ACT once but I failed miserably & I always ran out of time for even SAT so I decided to focus on SAT.

I know SAT isn’t everything but I realized my reading score is even lower than the 25th percentile and another girl from my school who’s EDing has better scores than me-34 or 35 ACT.

English isn’t my first language but I know that’s not an excuse. The saddest part is that I scored over 1500 on the practice tests multiple times but I just don’t do well on the actual tests.

I guess the only thing I can do now is to write a bomb supplement, but I was wondering how you guys feel about SAT scores. Do you think SAT is a pivotal part of the application? Do you guys think I still have a shot? Honestly, I’m so discouraged right now :frowning:

First of all, your sat score does not suck. A 1460 is within the mid-50% range so it doesn’t mean you have no chance of being accepted. Secondly, there are other parts of the application. Just focus on strengthening your application. Make Cornell believe they will be making a mistake not accepting you.
And I would be more worried if I recieved mediocre letters of reccomendation than a 1460 SAT score
