My school won't let any student take their SAT subject tests until junior year.
I really want to apply early decision so do I just take like 5 (choose 3) subject tests at the end of junior year, along with AP tests and ACT??
How can I get it all done in one year?
Is it possible?

I asked my counselor and two teachers and they won't let me take them early:'(

Go to CB online. Register to take the tests on the date of your choosing at a nearby hs. Pay. Take tests. Send the scores to your hs so they will be on transcript for ED applications. Any problem, tell GC you chose to take the tests early.
Let me guess-you go to a private school…

They can’t stop you. My suggestion, go ahead and register for the test. If you need to create an account, do NOT enter your high school when it asks you to. Just leave it blank. If you already have an account, remove your high school from your profile when you start to register. Once you register for the test, just to make sure, call collegeboard and tell them that you don’t want your school to get your scores. Ask them if your scores will be sent to your hs and if they have your school on file (they shouldn’t). If they do for some reason, ask them to remove your hs and and make sure they know you don’t want your scores going to your hs. Oh, and, you don’t want to rub your teachers and counselors the wrong way; they need to write your recommendations. Don’t take the tests at the school you normally go to, take them at another school. And don’t even tell them you took it ever. Come senior year, be like yeah, i took the sat subject tests. Maybe you should save like one subject test for june so that it looks normal. Doesn’t matter.

Or, if you aren’t the rebellious type, you could just do what they say and take it junior year. It shouldn’t be too bad. I mean you will have studied for it all year long. Maybe you can take your ACT earlier? Remember: YOU are applying to college; not them. If you feel like you will be better off taking them now (are you sure you know the material?), go for it. Just don’t bother telling your teachers. They don’t ever have to know. Honestly, my school gives out some bad advice too. Although, to be fair, the advice is great for the vast majority (95%+) of students. But for the other 5%, some of the advice isn’t going to help. But, they don’t force any of it onto you. I just keep my mind open, listen to their advice, then reconcile it with my goals and my plans. Works out pretty well. And, honestly, my school isn’t getting my SAT/ACT/Subject Test scores either; they don’t need it.

OP- I’m sure you are not the only student at your public hs wanting to take your SATs earlier, but you’re the only one you know willing to ask about it to your GCs. So now that you know you can, good luck. Keep it on the down low, you may need the GCs for recommendations later.
