<p>my school doesnt rank students and not a lot of people from my school apply to Rice... so Rice cant really compare the GPAs of students from my school to estimate the class rank. So, in that case, does Rice call the school's counselor to figure out my class rank???</p>
<p>Many schools will include a school profile with the secondary school report. While your school may not rank, they mat provide the GPA range per decile which will allow admissions to read between the lines.</p>
<p>If the AO really wants additional info about you or your school, s/he will ask for it.</p>
<p>If you are still concerned, talk to your GC and see what he/she has in mind. I was out of the country at the time of application and my school had a weird grading system that made little sense to anyone who wasn’t familiar with that school - my GC sent a profile and a separate attachment explaining our system to the schools I was applying to. You could probably do something similar.</p>
