This includes Snapple, soda, and candy. No longer are there vending machines poised at the crooks of hallways or delectable blueberry muffins sold for breakfast by cafeteria workwomen.

I've fallen sin to Beelzebub. I'll never survive.

thats pretty much how it's been at my school since these laws were passed in 8th grade.

That's horrible! =(

Man, Home Ec is going to suck pretty bad, then.

Welcome to my world. We don't even get Gatorade, and they took out the flavored water last semester.

No Gatorade? What is the world coming to?

The only drink I've consumed since December of last year? Tap water.

Have they just gotten rid of the vending machines? Or have they banned them all together?

Our school took out regular pop machines (so everything is diet), and now people bring to school like 12 packs and stuff and sell each one for a dollar or so. Made people a couple hundred bucks last year... and cost our school a few hundred thousand.

No sugar stuff. That sucks.

At my school, we have everything sugar. They tried to get rid of soda, but they just put the soda vending machines by the football/tennis field instead of in the cafe. People just have to walk a few more steps to get a soda.

They've gotten rid of the vending machines and forbid clubs from selling candy as a fundraiser.

^ Then what else can they sell? Apples? (just kidding) Selling candies makes the most money. Fewer people would pre-order a cheese cake than buy a candy bar

Is this like, a move to prevent the spread of obesity? Cause that's pretty stupid.

^^ yet the cafeteria food is loaded with oils and equally unhealthy substances.

We don't have vegan, and vegetarian is pretty effing hard to come by... I'm neither, but I've always wondered how the heck would I eat if I was, seeing as everything has meat in it here.
I'm too lazy to bring a lunch, so sue me.

My school has actually introduced new "vegan" food to the daily lunch.

We do have a pretty nice saladbar too.

Clubs sell t-shirts, bracelets, and sweatpants! LAME

Do you get detention if you sneak sugar in?

i think its stupid. seriously, if someone wants to have a soda, making soda unavailable to them during school isn't really going to make a difference...they'll just have one when they get home...
and its not like the cafeteria food is really healthy or something
oh and they allow soda machines in the teachers lounges so kids just sneak in there/ask teachers to get stuff from them.

and all the diet stuff is worse than the regular stuff anyways, they have all that fake sugar which stuff like aspartame which can eventually make you actually gain more weight and have even been shown to possibly cause cancer (although everything causes cancer nowadays)

^^^I know! We'll just get fatter because we'll be hoarding food in school and trying to eat it in secret. Binge eating!

HAHAHAHA.
sorry.

but seriously, WHAT?!/WHY?!

just say you're going into a diabetic coma every time you crave sugar.

OK it sucked during our school's multicultural fair last year. We could only sell foods that passed ridiculous health standards like sugarless tea, pretzels instead of bratwurst, and instead of croissant sandwiches it was just sandwiches on whole wheat bread. I swear I'm so glad I'm leaving high school after this year.
