My school has outlawed the consumption of sugar!

yeah that rule would not keep me from bringing in munchies.

I'm seriously not going to last!
I run on sugar!

that's how it is at my school. Granola, fruit, or a sandwich is the choice.

lol my high school has been like this for like, 3 years. honestly, you will survive. they have healthier additions to school lunch menus, chicken and rice, wraps, etc.

also, there is always COLLEGE!
:-D

^^This is true. I usually consume sugary drinks and eat Sour Patch watermelon gummies to get around my lack of sleep. It keeps me going.

How dare they?!! Stay strong. Keep your feet firmly planted on the ground. Do not give in. I repeat do not give in.The battle for chocolat-y goodness will continue!!...in 1800-hours we shall strike back! (I have to go eat my veggies first.)

^^^Haha, ah, I enjoy College Confidential oh so much. <3

I'm training myself: I ate vegetable noodle soup for lunch today.

Well, I think there's a new state law that was passed before last year, because now, there's hardly anything good sold at my school. But instead of adding in healthy replacements at my school, they have just eliminated things altogether, to the point where my cafeteria is now so bad that about 30 people eat from it every day.

As for clubs, anything sold during the day must meet certain nutrition standards, but before and after school hours, they can sell whatever they want. So basically, when there is a bake sale, they have it before school, and everyone stocks up on sugar to eat throughout the day. The administration doesn't really care, though, and when there are school events and stuff, they basically turn a blind eye if clubs want to sell junk food.

There are also soda machines and a good vending machine that only work outside school hours. There are juice machines, a 'healthy' snack machine (with lots of cereal bars... gross), and an ice cream machine that can only have certain ice creams because of the laws, and although these are allowed during the school day, I hardly see them used since everything in them sux.

^^^ That makes a lot of sense: I live in New Jersey too.

"The only drink I've consumed since December of last year? Tap water."

ditto
