(the IT help desk isn't open over the weekend and this thing is due on Sunday!)
I completed the transaction online through myucsc and was notified by email that the payment for my deposit was made. However, it turns out that there was a "finish" button at the bottom at the confirmation page that I didn't click -- apparently my transaction went through, but when I go back to the myucsc portal thing, it doesn't say anything different, and I am still given the option to either decline or accept my admission (choosing to accept takes me back to the page that asks me to pay the deposit). Have I not confirmed my acceptance? Should my page have changed as a result of accepting my admission? Did I miss a last step or something by not clicking "finish"? I was thinking of just paying the deposit again so that I can be sure I have accepted my offer and then take up the issue of being charged double with an admissions/IT person, do you think that would work?

you need to give it one day before you get confirmation. Check the email you put
and see if you received anything saying that in one or two days your portal will be updated. I did the same thing as you but the next day it was fixed.

Thanks for your reply. It worked out :)

Hmm what deposit is this? I have already accepted admission to ucsc but i don’t remember coming across a page that asked for me to pay something? Is it because I’m low income or something?

oxyg3n520:
Low income students have the SIR deposit fee deferred. Those who pay it up front have it later applied to their first student bill (same with the housing deposit being applied to the housing bill). Those who have it deferred do not have any deposit money applied to their bill.

Since your SIR deposit was deferred, your orientation fee is likely to waived (this does not have to be paid at a later date).
