My Situation..

Okay...I'm going to UF with 30 AP/CLEP Credits + 9 dual enrollment. When I get there, I'll be a Junior short 12 credits, or 4 classes which can be done in the Fall semester. My point, is that I'll be in and out of UF in 2 yrs and half!

That's really fast for me & I wanna kinda sorta slow it down, but simultaneously gaining something from it, such as a Double Major, possibly.

How hard is it to double major? & What would be go with Political Science?
I want to go to Law school in Europe... help.

why would you want to cut college down to 2 and half years... its supposed to be the best time of your life.

I think because you are not a transfer student then you have to pick 30 of those credits to keep and forfeit the rest. Not 100% sure, so I would call and ask.

As for finishing when you want, the key is taking your last class for your major that semester you want to graduate. They cant force you to graduate is you havent finish the requirements. If you are dependent on BF then it might cause problems because BF stop after 132? credits max (except chem-e).

Double majors are doable. I would consider Economics, Sociology, English, Anthropology, or a language. It's up to you what your interest are.

Are the credits you bring with you part of those 120-132? Or does BF pay for 120-132 credits actually taken at the university?

UF will only take 30 AP credits, exactly for this reason.

Good question. I believe it include the credits you bring in because when I passed 120, I got a letter telling me I was almost to the max.

Do you, at one point, get to sit with an academic adviser to discuss this? Or for that matter, the double major business?

You can talk to the academic adviser at Preview about the credits thing. You can talk about adding the second major when you start school.

What about if you are in the Honors program? Same Preview? Can this be discussed in the Fridays with Honors set up?

there is a specific group at Preview for people who are in the honors program...all of the honors students will be placed in a group by themselves

Could you stop cretaing these useless threads please? No one cares.

You need to do some research on your own.

Renee agrees with me...

Rosh420, I honestly believe that she's using this board exactly as it was meant to be used, so that people with more knowledge/experience could help her with her current situation.

I also plan to major in Political Science and am in a similar situation with credits... I knew I would have to keep 30, but had no idea BF stopped at 132. Thanks for the info, ASMAJ.

Well toy, I happen to KNOW fabi0lita. I have for 3 years now, and I honestly believe she's being a little dramatic. She has been asking these SAME questions for years now.

I agree. There has been a new influx of people that I think are rude and there post don't contribute to anything. EDIT Didn't know you knew her, but its kind of inappropriate to call them out on the boards. PMing, would have been a better option.

You're welcome. What are you considering as your double?

Business Administration? I want to end up in corporate law. I'm thinking this is my best bet right now, but things could change. I definitely won't be adding an extra major until I've been in school for a while and know what I'm getting into.

If I don't double major in Business Administration I will DEFINITELY minor in it...

Yeah, I would feel things out once you start. Remember all you need for grad school is one degree. If two degrees affect your grades then its not worth it. You might even want to consider a minor or two, if you decide two majors are not for you.
