My sophomore year schedule

This is my sophomore year schedule…

Honors English II
Honors Chemistry
Honors Spanish 4
CP Geometry
CP Algebra 2
CP US History
CP Drafting and Engineering Design
CP Computer Programming
I am also thinking about self-studying for AP Psychology, AP Micro + Micro since my school doesn’t offer these and I am interested in taking them. I figured it would be easier to self study for an ap sophomore year since it isn’t that rigorous. But let me know what you guys think about it?

This was my freshman year schedule…

Honors English 1
Honors Spanish 3
CP Biology
Algebra 1
CP World History
Photography
Ceramics
Personal finance

Couple notes about my sophomore year schedule…

I am doubling up in Math since I took Algebra freshman year and I want to be able to take AP Calc. I am thinking about taking pre-Calc online over the summer so I can take AP Calc AB junior year and BC senior year. Will that be worth it or not?

I am taking CP US History because at my school it’s a two year course and we take APUSH junior year.

Let me know what you guys think about my schedule.
Thanks

Silly question here: What does CP mean? I understand AP, IB, and Honors, but I’m not familiar with CP. Thank you in advance for educating me!

@JAF09 I believe CP is college prep.

This is a good schedule if you think it’s a good rigor level for your future goals and you think you’ll be happy with these classes. However, I would not recommend self-studying for APs. Many schools won’t give credit for psych or econ, and you can better show your interest in those subjects in other ways. If you think you will have time and want to, you can take a community college class in either of them over the summer, or join extracurriculars related to those subjects, or take an online class. Any of those will serve you better than an AP score.

I do not think it’s worth it to take precalc online–even the most selective colleges don’t require BC, and many of my friends, even in engineering/math/science, only took through AB. At many schools, calc BC is instead of, not after, AB. I would talk to your counselor to confirm whether you need to take one after another.
