I spent over 200 hours on my application to Harvard and Yale. I worked hard on perfecting all of my essays and everything is set except my teachers haven’t sent in my letter of recommendation yet. I already sent in the application and have payed for it. The deadline on January 1st is passed and the school does not open back up until January 5th.
Do the teachers have extra time to send in the recommendation letter or will my application not be taken into consideration?
Schools usually allow for extra time for supplementary materials to be submitted such as recommendations and sat scores
Thank you very much! I was very worried about that.
The hard deadline was for you to submit your application. It is not a hard and fast one for GCs or LORs. Just make sure to follow up when you get back from break to make sure they get in as quickly as possible. It will not affect your chances. The AdComs know students have no control over when these items are submitted.
Good luck!!
