My UVa Chances

I want to transfer to the McIntire College of Business or the College of Arts and Sciences (economics degree).

The transfer app for the fall semester (this will be the 1st semester of my sophomore year) of 2007 is March 1, 2007.

My high school GPA is a 3.1 (2.6 senior year).

I live in-state.

just fyi, you'll apply to CAS....although your high school record is a bit low, your college GPA is on par, and you're instate...i say you have a good chance, but your HS gpa might keep you out

im planning on sending in mid-semester grades too...will they consider these do you think?

not bad..i m a UVa undergrad.u have fin echances

Major GPA: 3.864/4.000
Cumulative GPA: 3.735/4.000
Credits: 39

Math: 680
Writing: 660
Math1C: 720

Chances at UVA (College of Arts & Sciences)?

out-of-state applicant

sounds like you'll make it.

to Shoebox:
I think they will because they have a fourth page for mid-year grades on the transfer application.

do they really? ah, missed that...ill have to go check! =) which personal essay (#7) are you doing? i think im going to do the three people one...its tough to decide which one to do...how long are your essays/answers?

edit: i just checked, and that form is for first year student applicants...??? i guess this is right...i might email the admission office to double check, but apperently you can send them! yay! i have only a 3.1 overall (3.2 major courses) for engineering, but im instate/female/4.2 senior year grades/1380 SAT....i reaaalllyyy want to transfer too, im just starting to worry, but i emailed an associate dean for the e-school and he said a 3.0 from VT (where im at now) is very competetive, so im keeping my fingers crossed =) this is why i need mid semester grades, to show an upward trend

do you know if there is a limit on the amount of times you can apply for transfer? like if I don't get in this year, I hope I can try again next year.

I'm still open for people guessing my chances of getting in to either the McIntire Shool of Commerce for finance or the College of Arts and Sciences for economics =)

theres no limit, other than up until before your junior year...i know UVA rarely takes incoming senior transfers, if ever

yeah id be a junior transfer after that.

ok then yes, you have two chances left...i'd say other than your HS (low for UVA), you're pretty much in...lucky me, i have a 3.6 overall (4.2 senior year) working to help out my poor 3.1 at VT (3.2 in my major classes though)
