<p>MyMIT has stopped working; I think because of system overflow as we all rush to get in our early app.</p>
<p>Has this happened before / how quickly is it fixed / are the deadlines still rigid?</p>
<p>Is anyone else having trouble accessing their app? I can’t get on the site and I fear the hurricane may have knocked out their servers. Please let me know if you’re having similar issues.</p>

<p>Somewhere on these threads mollie/chris said that applicants wouldn’t be penalized and they’d extend the deadline.
Also, this happened for one of their summer programs; MIT extended the deadline for everyone.</p>
<p>Me too. Well, the next 48 hours just got a lot more stressful; I didn’t think I’d have to worry about whether or not I’d be able to submit my app on time.</p>

<p>I’m having problems too. The same thing happened in 2005 and they extended the deadline to 11/4:

<p>It has happened before (in 2005 as well as, IIRC, 2006), though not frequently. Lanayru and mkwalter are correct that MIT has always extended the deadline in the past when the server has crashed. </p>
<p>(However, I’m sure the server will be up and running sometime today; in the past, the server has crashed on the evening of November 1, so it’s been more necessary to extend the deadline. If the server is back up after only a few hours of outages, I’m not sure it will be necessary for the deadline to be extended, although MIT may do it anyway.)</p>
